Alternate Ways to Give

LEGACY GIVING

What Will Your Legacy Be? Including Cool Kids Campaign in your estate plans allows you to leave a lasting impact by supporting families navigating childhood cancer. Your gift can make a profound difference in the lives of children, providing the care, support, and joy they need during a challenging time.

Impact of Legacy Giving:
Because of your generosity, a child facing cancer will receive professional tutoring, a family can take a much-needed break, parents can participate in support groups, and kids can share fun, meaningful experiences with peers who understand their journey.

Ways to Include Cool Kids Campaign in Your Long-Term Plans:

  • Name Cool Kids Campaign in Your Will or Trust: A simple way to leave a legacy is by including a bequest to Cool Kids Campaign in your will or living trust.*
  • Charitable Gift Annuity: A CGA allows you to make a donation to Cool Kids while receiving a fixed income for life. After your lifetime, the remaining balance supports our mission.
  • Donor Advised Fund: A DAF lets you make a tax-deductible donation and recommend grants to Cool Kids over time. It provides flexibility and the ability to grow your contribution before granting.
  • Charitable Remainder Trust: A CRT provides income to you or your beneficiaries for a specified time, with the remainder going to charity after the trust term ends.
  • Charitable Lead Trust: A CLT gives income to Cool Kids for a set period, after which the remaining assets return to you or your beneficiaries, often with tax advantages.
  • Gift of Securities: You can donate appreciated securities like stocks or mutual funds. To do so, please transfer to the following:
    • DTC#: 0141 (First Clearing)
    • A/C#: 1051-7540
    • A/C Name: Cool Kids Campaign Foundation Inc.
  • Beneficiary Designation: Designate Cool Kids Campaign as the beneficiary of your life insurance policy or retirement account.
  • Smart Giving from your IRA: If you are 70 ½ or older, the IRS requires you to take annual Required Minimum Distributions (RMD) from your IRA, which may increase your taxable income. By donating your RMD directly to Cool Kids Campaign, you can reduce your tax burden while supporting children and families dealing with pediatric cancer.
  • Charitable Remainder Trust: A trust that provides income to you or your beneficiaries for a period of time, with the remainder going to Cool Kids.
  • Donor Advised Fund (DAF): A giving account where you can make charitable contributions, receive an immediate tax deduction, and recommend grants to Cool Kids over time.
  • Life Insurance: You can name Cool Kids as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, providing a gift in the future.
  • Real estate: You can give real estate property to Cool Kids, either during your lifetime or through your estate to support our mission.

WANT TO REDUCE YOUR TAX BURDEN?

Turn Your Required Distributions into Charitable Donations to Cool Kids Campaign!

Did you know that IRS rules mandate that individuals 70 1/2 and older take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from their IRA each year? These withdrawals are subject to ordinary income taxes. By making your withdrawal a charitable contribution you can satisfy your RMD amount without reporting additional income. This means that you can help children with cancer and their families while lowering your tax bill – a win-win!

Please speak to your financial advisor to see if a charitable contribution from your IRA is right for you. If it is, we encourage you to select Cool Kids Campaign as your charity of choice. Your donation will make life a little brighter for a family dealing with pediatric cancer. If you’re not yet 70 1/2, please share this information with someone who is.

Annual Reports

Cool Kids Campaign holds events and solicits donations throughout the year to help pediatric oncology patients and their families. We offer numerous Programs through our Learning Center, offer the use of vacation properties to kids with cancer and their families and send Care Packages to kids in hospitals throughout the nation.
